On a Saturday in September, with less than two minutes remaining in Penn State's game against rival Ohio State, Adam Taliaferro made a routine helmet-to-helmet tackle that would change the course of his life.
The next step was a rehab center. His parents prohibited him from hearing the doctors' prognosis that he only had a 3 percent chance of ever walking again.
Taliaferro leads the Penn State Nittany Lions football team onto Beaver Stadium's field for the first game of the 2001 season against the Miami Hurricanes in front of a crowd of 109,313.
Joe Paterno called Taliaferro a hero. "Adam has been an inspiration to everyone at our university and many others. he is courageous, dedicated and an example of being able to overcome extreme adversity."
After graduating from Penn State in 2005, Adam earned a law degree from Rutgers in 2008. Adam Taliaffero is now a practicing attorney.
Adam continues to provide hope and inspiration to people around the country!
